The initial purchase price includes 1-year of warranty against product defect(s) that prevent it from functioning as described in the product description as well as access to hardware and firmware upgrades that will improve the product performance. The replacement of hardware during the warranty period will be provided at no cost to the customer, including shipping if the hardware failure is due to defective workmanship. However, warranty will not cover any failure due to incorrect or misuse by the customer, as determined by analyzing the returned unit by SMD. In the latter case, the units will be replaced at 50% of the initial purchase price + shipping cost.
Beginning with the 2nd year, the customer can subscribe to the annual maintenance (corresponding fee applicable) to have continued access to the firmware upgrades that will ensure compatibility with hardware improvements, as well as exchange program for any failed hardware or revision(s) to the hardware including the phase modulator as well as the driver board. The replacement of failed units will be carried out under the same terms and conditions as during the warranty period as described above. The warranty and annual subscriptions are not transferable.
